PRAYER FOR OUR COUNTRY

Almighty God, who gave us this good land for our heritage; We humbly ask that we may always prove ourselves a people mindful of your favor and glad to do your will.  Bless our land with honorable industry, sound learning, and pure manners.   Save us from violence, discord, and confusion; from pride and arrogance, and from every evil way.  Defend our liberties, and fashion into one united people the multitudes brought to our country from many kindred and tongues.  Endue with the spirit of wisdom those to whom in your name we entrust the authority of government, that there may be justice and peace at home, and that, through obedience to your law, we may show forth your praise among the nations of the earth.  In the time of prosperity, fill our hearts with thankfulness, and in the day of trouble, may our trust in you not fail; all which we ask through Jesus Christ or Lord.  Amen.

PRAYER FOR GUIDANCE

Direct us, O Lord, in all our doings with your most gracious favor, and further us with your continual help; that in all our works begun, continued, and ended in you, we may glorify your holy Name and finally, by your mercy, obtain everlasting life; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

PRAYER FOR THE GIFT OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

Come Holy Spirit. Fill the hearts of your faithful and kindle in us the fire of your love. Send forth Your Spirit and we shall be created. And You shall renew the face of the earth. O God, who by the light of the Holy spirit did instruct the hearts of the faithful, grant that by the same Holy Spirit we may be truly wise and ever enjoy His consolations; through Christ o ur Lord. Amen.
